What is TagBow
TagBow is a hybrid mix of classic dodgeball, archery and paintball, TagBow combines elements of each sport to yield a new variation that utilizes bows and arrows. Played by all ages and genders, the combat archery phenomenon that TagBow is based on is seeing massive success, currently played in over 31 countries and more than 330 locations worldwide.
“TagBow is the brainchild of two friends from London who experienced competitive archery while on a road trip and were determined to bring it to their city, TagBow is played with safe, flat-faced, foam-tipped arrows and bows specifically designed for danger-free and friendly gameplay. The playing field and game modes are reminiscent of dodgeball, while the extreme element of archery delivers the adrenaline rush of paintball…but without the physical discomfort that tends to come with it, making it accessible to a much wider audience.”
How is TagBow played
In a TagBow session, two teams of up to 10 players are “called to arms” to battle it out in an arena for 45 minutes of action-packed fun, where friends can choose to strategize together or compete against one another for the purpose of besting the other side. Players use their bow and foam-tipped arrows to shoot opposing players and targets to win the game, while obstacles on both sides of the field are set so that teams must strategize a plan to take out their opponents.
TagBow story
“When it comes to recreational activities, the United Kingdom has enjoyed a reputation for providing endless options for people to choose from,” says a member of TagBow’s team. “Irrespective of this fact, there is one sporting activity that, while proving popular across the U.S. and Canada, has not quite caught on amidst the UK’s active lifestyle scene…and that is competitive archery.
In response to the overwhelming success of films such as Hunger Games in addition to seemingly rekindled interests in mainstream characters such as “Hawkeye” in The Avengers – and even Robin Hood and Legolas – this sport has been experiencing phenomenal growth worldwide, finally, TagBow Archery Sport has arrived here in the United Kingdom!
The TagBow team have been running private events for commercial companies and universities since 2017 and now TagBow is poised to rock the UK, with expansion plans to host public events in 2018 throughout London and the whole of the United Kingdom.
